Break Into Spring

This entire week is dedicated to spring break. I do not know how all of you had your spring vacations, but back in the day back home in CA, it was called Easter Vacation. This week long break from school was held annually the week prior to Easter Sunday. The weather was always so beautiful--spring weather, you might say--heck, it was just great to be out of school and spend time with your friends!!! My mothers' aunt owned a house in Palm Springs, so every so often during Easter Vacation, our family would go to Palm Springs, stay at her house and spend the week sight seeing and shopping but for me, it was being outside by the pool getting a head start on my summer tan. While in high school, we had names for different types of groups of kids--one being "the surfers"--they were always tanned, dressed cool and looked hot, to say the least. One year while we were vacationing, we were walking down the main drag and just happened to run into some of those nice, cute surfer dudes and we all said hello to each other!!! I never felt so "in"!!! When school started up again, we all pretended that it never happened.

Nowadays, Easter Vacation is known nation wide as Spring Break and it is all about getting together with friends and going away with them somewhere. This Spring Break, I am getting together with my friends--when I am at work. I am getting away--when I go to work. At least I know that Spring, Easter and General Conference is just around the corner. Happy Spring.
