What are your thoughts????
It is Monday morning and I am still on a spiritual high. I really enjoyed General Conference this past weekend. I enjoyed all of the talks. By the way, as you might recall in my last entry, I mentioned that I would come home from work and take a little cat nap and wake up in time to watch conference. To answer the burning question that you have in your mind--"Did she wake up?" The answer is sort of. I did wake up to find that it was 10:00--I had missed the first hour!! I turned on the tv, checked to see that Ryan was up (he is our go to bed late and sleep in late child) and to my surprise, he was up!! He said that he had just gotten up, but he was up, none the less. I was excited to learn about the 5 new temples (though I can only remember 4 of them, after Rhea told me where they were going to be built). In our family, we go around and everyone tells what their favorite three talks were and why. I was touched by Elder Oaks talk on the importance of Sacrement Meeting, followed by Elder Uchdorf's' talk on hope and how it intertwines with faith and charity. I was also touched by Pres. Monsons' demeanor at the end of conference. He seemed so loving and concerned for everyone. So like my family, I will now ask the same question to you, my fellow friends and bloggers--what talk did you like the best and why? I did take notes. Did you notice that one of the temples will be built in Brazil and that one of the speakers in the last session was from Brazil, not to mention that the Phillippines was also mentioned? In any event, I hope that you all had a great spiritual feast these past couple of days. I close this days blog with a thought from Richard Bach--it can be applied on a spiritual sense--"Happiness is the reward we get for living to the highest right we know." Cool, huh? Have a good day everybody.

Hey Susan, First I want to say that I am loving Jeremy's mission site! Good job Mom!!!
To answer your next question, I loved all of conference but really loved Saturday the best. Not in any particular order are my three favorites:
L.Tom Perry talked about simplifying our lives. I think this was great, great, great advice and one that I needed.
President Uchtdorf spoke about the infinite power of HOPE. In these times we are living currently, I think we are going to need lots of that! It was so uplifiting to remember that hope is the anchor to our souls and that the opposite of hope is depair, the devil's tool.
Jeffrey R Holland spoke of angels that are sent to help us in times of trial. We must take heart and have faith in the things that are to come. God never leaves us alone.
With all that is happening in this great country and around the world, these talks gave me hope and enthusiasm in spite of the dire headlines. We have to take heart and endure to the end!
