Fathers' Day
It is Sunday and it is even Fathers' Day. Growing up, we would always go over to my grandparents house and have a big bbq /swim party. It was so fun to have all the grandparents, aunts and my sisters and I all together for some family time. This faters' day, my dad and mom are in SLC visiting some friends and are on their way to ID to visit my sister and her family for a few days. It was a quiet day for us. Went to church, had our home teachers over, got some nap time in (of course) and fixed a nice dinner for the dad of our home of salmon, rice and aspargus with Melchors' favorite deser--cheesecake!!! In church, he, and all the men, got a piece of pie, so that was nice. He got his nap and time checking his mission page and FB anad got his favorite fish for dinner--along with cards from the three of us, and a bottle of really nice smelling cologne (after all, I do love to have me man smell good!!). I think that he had a nice day, I can not tell. He is still not used to all the fuss given to him on Fathers's Day. It is just another day for him. He doesn't expect anything for this day or any other holiday (like birthday, Christmas, Valentines', Easter)it is just the way he is due to how and where he was born and raised. I am grateful for him being the father of our two boys. I am greatful for my wonderful dad who has been a fantastic dad for over 50 years!!! Happy Fathers' Day to the two dad in my life!!!
