Twas the Night Before Christmas

"It"s christmas eve, i'm tucked in bed,
I'm safe and warm, my prayers are said,
I start to think about the first christmas night.

The manger scene, the baby fair,
The star that led the shepards there,
The mother Mary smiles...at the christ child...

Can I hold the baby and will he smile at me,
Does he know just who he is and how he will loved,
Can I hold the baby and will he smile at me,
Does he know why he is here on earth from heaven above."

The primary children sang this tear jerker of a song last sunday for the prelude music for sacrement meeting. We had been learning it for about three weeks. Everytime the kids sang it, the primary chorister (love her, Michelle Kiel) and I would have a good little cry.

It is christmas eve. I won't be tucked in bed. I will be working instead. But that does not mean that I will not be thinking of that first christmas night...the wisemen, the shepards and the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in that lowly stable. The greatest event on earth to ever take place.

Christ is the reason for the season. Merry Christmas.
